A local businessman’s son was granted bail today in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of attempted murder.

The son handed himself over to police regarding a shooting that occurred outside a tavern on September 6.

On the day of the shooting, it is believed that an altercation occurred outside the tavern.

According to the victim, he was with friends sitting outside when a fight started between a group of people, resulting in him being shot in the arm. The gunman fled the scene in a vehicle.

The suspect appeared in court today and was granted bail of R1500. The case was remanded to November 12.
