Mini cricket, maxi talent

There was plenty of talent on display but more importantly the joy shown of being able to participate in the tournament.

Umzinyathi hosted its annual mini cricket tournament that hosted 368 enthusiastic learners on October 17. The learners enjoyed a morning of bowling, fielding and batting. The schools that participated were Ethangeni Combined School, Dundee Junior Secondary School, Dundee Primary School, Glencoe Primary (Violet), F.N.S, Hamilton Prep, Egerton, Glencoe Primary School, Ichthus, Dundee Junior School and Uelzen.

Anticipating to pitch a six.

There was plenty of talent on display but more importantly the joy shown of being able to participate in such a tournament. This tournament is to develop and expose the learners to the game, with aspirations that it will be a stepping stone to become great cricketers.

Showing off some spectacular batting skills.

The organisers would like to thank Dundee High School for rendering their facilities. Thank you to the parents for their support and a very big thank you to all the educators who gave up their Saturday mornings for the learners.
