Ladysmith Detective Services recently appealed to the community to assist them in identifying a dead person.
This after the body of a man (about 50 years of age) was found by police lying in a vacant building in Golf Street.
The deceased had been beaten to death.
The deceased has now been identified as 44-year-old Sibusiso Nke Madlala.
Ladysmith detectives have also been successful in solving the murder.
On Tuesday, October 13, a 20-year-old suspect was arrested. He appeared briefly in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court last week on charges of murder.
He has since been remanded into custody pending a formal bail application and is due back in court on Thursday.
