APPROXIMATELY four months ago, a section of the road in Church Street was destroyed by a water pipe which had burst below the surface.

As a result, following the repair of the burst pipe, the surface of this busy section of road outside Vryheid High School, where West Street meets Church Street, remained in a state of disrepair, subsequently resulting in a rather perilous pothole along Vryheid’s main road.

To avoid inevitable damage to their vehicles, motorists are required to swerve to avoid hitting this enormous pothole, which spans almost an entire lane.

With service delivery being what it is currently, one can only wonder when something will be done about this treacherous stretch of road.

Attempts to get a comment from the municipality have proven fruitless.
