The Muslim community held a prayer for much-needed rain early on Sunday morning.
The prayer was held just outside of town, near Ladysmith Motel (between the motel and the R103 turn-off). The prayer was considered a worthy exercise, as we desperately need rain to put an end to the severe drought the town is experiencing.
About 700 people attended the prayer – men, women and children.
Many walked from the Soofie Mosque to the venue near the motel.
