BREAKING NEWS: Public transport interrupted by alleged taxi violence

An outgoing feud between rival taxi associations apparently reached breaking point shortly after 10am this morning.

According to reports, commuters have been forced to arrange other means of transportation amid rumoured taxi violence.

An outgoing feud between rival taxi associations apparently reached breaking point shortly after 10am this morning.

Initially, Kirkland and Sutherland streets were the only areas affected by the conflict.

In addition, unofficial sources claimed vehicles passing by were caught in the proverbial crossfire. Some vehicles have apparently been damaged in the process.

The latest report suggests the turn off to Madadeni has also been plagued by the alleged dispute.

Motorists are advised to remain vigilant and avoid the abovementioned areas as far as possible.

We urge all motorists and commuters to exercise caution. If you know of any other areas that have been affected, contact Nicole Collett on ncschools@caxton.co.za
