Fighting cancer with a cup of tea

About 50 ladies attended, and enjoyed an afternoon of socialising and also getting to learn valuable lessons

Cancer survivor Joy Msomi held a ‘Cuppa Tea for Cancer’ at the Ezakheni Library on Saturday afternoon.

Joy had cancer back in 2009, but now she is in remission and so decided to show her support in the fight against this deadly disease by spreading awareness through her very first ‘Cuppa’.

These events serve to make people aware of cancer and how important early detection is.

Fellow cancer survivor Sonto Thabethe addressed the crowd and told of her experiences.

About 50 ladies attended, and enjoyed an afternoon of socialising and also getting to learn valuable lessons.

Tea and cake was enjoyed by one and all.

Joy was thanked by the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) for holding the event and in so doing, saving other people’s lives.
