High scores win the golf

Saturday’s golf competition attracted a fair field of 35 players competing in the I.P.S format which saw some very good individual performances.
A number of high scores were recorded and winning first prize was Dan Scholtz on 41 points. Hot on his tail was Danie Von Mollendorf who beat Glen Scott on a count out with 39 points, followed by the club captain, Marc Bradbury on 37 points. The jackpot was won by Glen Scott with 12 points and Barry Sandy carded the only two clubs of the day.
Wednesday’s nine hole chicken run:
The chicken run saw a small field of eight players and the winner of the event went to Church Mapunga on 20 points.
The club sends their condolences:
The Dundee Country Golf Club passed on their condolences to the family of Piet Maré, who was an active squash member.
Dates to Diarise:
The curtain will come down for the Men’s league for 2015, this weekend. All four Dundee teams will be in action on Sunday at different venues, however the A team will be playing at home against Vulintaba Golf Club.
Club 4 bbbs competition will be hosted on September 19 and September 20 will see the Men’s League, September 23 the Squash club will award their best. The Battery Centre Tournament will also be featured on September 24 to 26. The time sheets for the Battery Centre Tournament to be held on September 24 and September 26 are now available at the Pro Shop, players are urged to get their names down to avoid disappointment.
