Glencoe Primary’s footballers defend their honour

Well done to Mr Biyela for managing the team and thank you to NRS for hosting a wonderful tournament.

SuperSport at Glencoe Primary School
SuperSport’s Let’s Play and Active Education visited Glencoe Primary to put the grade four learners through their paces.
This visit was part of a nationwide Let’s Play Physed Challenge. An obstacle course was set up for the learners by SuperSport and then, with time limits, they had to complete the course in a certain amount of time. The grade four’s were very excited and enjoyed the challenge. After times were taken, Zama Khumalo recorded the second-fastest time in the country this far. A real little speedster.
Casual Day
There’s a sweet smell in the air, the sounds of the birds, and hints of warm summer to come. It’s a time of rebirth, of new beginnings. We have woken up from our winter grind with opportunities sprouting all around us. Teachers embraced the theme of springing into action for children with disabilities. Funds were raised and stickers were worn with a funky hat to prove it.
Soccer
Once again the soccer boys made the school proud. When Glencoe Primary’s team arrived in Vryheid at NRS, it was clear that, because they had won the previous tournament, they were the team to beat.
The Glencoe lads won the first game 4-1 which was followed by a 0.0 draw. The game against Hlobane Primary was also drawn but this meant Glencoe Primary was in the final against Victory Primary which they won 5-1.
Anele Sangweni was the captain and rallied his players for every game. Well done to Mr Biyela for managing the team and thank you to NRS for hosting a wonderful tournament.
