League team golfers victorious

The cold, cloudy conditions and the slight rain still saw a fair field of 40 players competing in the Monthly Mug.
The A division was won by Brian Du Toit playing to his handicap with a net of 71, the B Division was closely contested and ended with a play-off between KP Smith and Heinrich Meyer who both shot a net 68, with KP Smith winning on the second extra hole.
The ladies B Division was won by Lorraine De Wit and the C Division by Ronel Purchase. The best gross score for the day went to Kallie Roets who shot a 75. On Sunday the B1 League team travelled to Ladysmith to play against Newcastle, and in a tightly contested game, the Dundee team managed to come away with a 10-8 victory, which has moved them off from the bottom of the table.
The Frog League team also tasted victory by beating Ladysmith 4-0, the pairing of Barry and KP, winning 7 and 6 and Danie and Willie winning 3 and 2, this victory has also moved them off the bottom of their table.
The curtain comes down on the league on September 20, when all four leagues will be competing in their last match of the 2015 season. Players are requested to check the notice board for relevant venues.
The public holiday, September 24, will see the first round of the Battery Centre Tournament.
There will be prizes awarded for each day, however, players need to enter on Thursday and Saturday to stand a chance of winning the tournaments major prizes.
Golfers are reminded that the nine-hole Chicken Run on Wednesday afternoon, and the Friday meat competitions, require your support.
