Fun at IEC Spring Festival

You couldn’t help but smile at the sounds of children laughing and running around the school grounds, with new toys in hand

There is always great excitement at the onset of Spring, and the Islamic Educational Centre (IEC) knows this all too well after putting on a hugely successful ‘Spring Festival’ at the school on Saturday.

The festival, which included a ‘Food Fair’, brought the community together for a fun-filled occasion that saw learners, parents, friends and donors engaged in a cultural shopping extravaganza topped off with culinary delights that definitely tantalised the taste buds.

Large numbers of people entered the school grounds, with great food and bargain hunting on their minds. On arrival, the lingering aroma of breyani, mouth-watering steaks and chicken tikka filled the air, luring hungry tummies nearer.

Large tents offered great deals on a wide variety of merchandise, making the IEC a veritable one-stop destination to have all your needs met on one thoroughly entertaining Saturday.

One of the main attractions was the vintage car display, with motoring enthusiasts gazing in awe at the classic automobiles and of course taking lots of photos.

All in all, the Spring Festival / Food Fair was a great hit with all who attended. What a way to start off the new season!
