A fund-raiser of note will be held in aid of Morester Children’s Home, come Saturday, September 5.

An extreme 4×4 challenge will be held at Bonani Game Farm, just 50km outside Newcastle.

The game farm is situated on the N11, at the Normandien turnoff.

The event will be hosted by Team Kwagga and Bonani Game Farm and all proceeds will go toward Morester.

On the day, eager off-road motor enthusiasts will be able to enjoy watching the skills of Koos Zietsman from Z-Factor No Limits Engineering. Mr Zietsman is a skilled, armoured vehicle engineer and eager 4×4 enthusiast, who kicked off his motor sport career in the early 1970s.

An extreme 4×4 challenge will also be held.

For those who wish to participate in a 4×4 challenge, there is an open class division where people can put their driving skills to the test with their 4x4s.

Entrance fee to enter the 4×4 open class is R300 and huge cash prizes will be up for grabs. First place prize is R10 000, second prize is R5 000 and the prize for third place is R2 500.

With an adrenaline filled theme and food stalls available, Ria Naudé, Morester’s spokesperson, said it was an event not to be missed.

“It will be the first time we will be holding a 4×4 event and we are looking forward to it. It will really be a nice day for the family and we encourage the community to support us,” she said.

The event is set to start off at 8am, with an entrance fee of R30. Children under 12 will enter for free.
