Club Singles Champs a bumper success

The AT Moolman Insurance Broker ladies and gentlemens club singles went off with a bang.This was the first time run as a sponsored event.
It was fantastic to see the ladies and gentlemen championship final, third and fourth position playoff and the Plate event finals all been played at the same time.
This created a fantastic vibe and camaraderie with top class bowls being played on the outstanding B green. Quote Brian Taylor:
“This must be the best club singles championship in my time”
This was followed by the prize giving and a fantastic prawn and fish braai for players and supporters.
The men’s plate final between Rob and Lourens was replaced by the third and fourth championship playoff.
Results as follows:
Gentlemens Champion is Des Johnson, runner-up Greg Conolly and third place Willie Nel.
Ladies Champion is Nan Roos, runner-up Sylvia Malan. The plate winner is Lyn Dippenaar and runner-up Dora Joubert.
It was great to see new bowlers Louis de Jager and Dora Joubert holding their own against some top bowling.
A special welcome to Ruben Kenchenten who gained much experience playing against senior bowlers. Well done! All catering over the weekend was outstanding. Well done to all who assisted.

Local players are encouraged to enter this competition that’s right on your doorstep. Great experience for new and old bowlers.
Two Dundee teams will be supporting the Vryheid Spring tournament, any other teams wanting to enter do so immediately.
