Woman arrested for drug possession

The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is around R3500

A 30-year-old woman was arrested with drugs in the CBD area yesterday (Wednesday).

This after an intelligence-driven police operation paid dividends. The Ladysmith Crime Intelligence Gathering Unit and Crime Prevention Unit made the arrest.

The woman was found in possession of 98 straws of whoonga, 14 mandrax tablets and R500 in cash.

She will appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (Thursday), facing charges of possession of drugs.

The estimated street value of the recovered drugs is around R3500.
