Update: Biker in stable condition after collision
Both the biker and the pedestrian lay in the road until emergency services arrived at the scene
The biker who was involved in a collision in Kandahar Avenue last night (Monday) is in a stable condition in hospital.
At this stage, it is understood that 3 pedestrians were using a shortcut that led to the road (Kandahar Avenue). 2 of them decided not to cross the road, and the collision happened as the third pedestrian was walking across.
A motorbike hit the pedestrian and then collided with a car. Both the biker and the pedestrian lay in the road until emergency services arrived at the scene.
Motorists and passersby stopped to see if they could render assistance before Sharaj paramedics got there.
The pedestrian sustained massive head injuries and died at the scene..
The biker was taken to hospital by Sharaj Ambulance Services.
No one in the car was injured.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
