Sarel Cilliers rugby players meet Springbok hero

Well done boys you have made your School and the whole of Umzinyathi very proud.

Sarel Cilliers had a busy sporting week and the school has once again excelled.
Tennis
Sarel congratulated the Sarel tennis team with their excellent performance against Dundee High School.
The players showed that hard work brings success, and for three consecutive times, Sarel has beaten Dundee in their Derby meeting. The girls gave a performance that will be difficult to match and won all their games with high scores. Well done girls!
The final score was Sarel vs Dundee 11-5.
Their next meeting is against Ladysmith High, and Sarel wishes them everything of the best.
Rugby
The past weekend Kevin Johnson and Hardus van Eeden, two of Sarel’s first team rugby players, went to Johannesburg to play in a warm-up match against High School Florida from Krugersdorp for the South African Country and Districts side touring to Italy later in the year.
They won their match comprehensively by 27-7. After a lengthy practice session on Friday they had the official Capping Ceremony on Saturday morning with Springbok rugby player, Adriaan Strauss, handing out their kit.
Sarel Cilliers High school wishes these two young boys a very big congratulations. Well done boys you have made your School and the whole of Umzinyathi very proud.
Cricket
The Annual cricket has got underway again and Sarel Cilliers High School has already played in three matches – two matches vs Ladysmith High School and one against Dundee High School. Both on and off the field the boys showed excellent character.
Girls 7 Rugby
On Saturday, August 22, the Sarel Cilliers First Team girls played in the Top Schools’ Championship held at Dundee High School. Sarel’s First Team came out tops winning all their matches. The scores were as follows:Sarel vs. Ndlelanhle 17-5, Sarel vs. Msinga 21-10.+
