Glencoe Primary scores honours with successful football tournament
Congratulations to all the players and coaches.
Glencoe Primary boasted another successfully hosted soccer tournament thanks to the teachers and learners of the school.
Schools from Glencoe, Dundee, Hlobane, Bergville, Richardsbay, Vryheid and Paulpietersburg came to participate. With 183 players it was quite a challenge but everything was well managed and all the teams walked away with prizes.
Points were allocated for wins on the first day and then it was strength vs strength on the second day. There was one penalty shoot-out at the end of day one to determine the lacing of two teams for day two.
It proved to be quite exciting as all the other players were spectators and cheered for every goal scored.
Glencoe Primary sincerely thanked all the educators and other officials who contributed towards the success of the tournament. Also a special thank you to NASHUA who sponsored 45 soccer balls towards the tournament.
Results: Under 11 – Glencoe A third, NRS second, Glencoe B first. third – Dundee third, NRS second Hlobane 1st, Second Placing – Glencoe B , 3rd, Biggersberg 2nd, Ricardia 1st, First Placing – Bergville 3rd, Paulpietersburg 2nd, Glencoe A 1st Glencoe Primary’s A-side played outstanding soccer and won the tournament. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.

Dit is alweer tyd vir ons jaarlikse CONQUESTA OLIMPIADE en weereens het ons ‘n magdom leerling wat deelneem. Die uitdaging is daar om te verbeter op die vorige jare se uitslae. Glencoe Primêr het die afgelope drie jaar in die top 10 groep geeindig met van ons uitslae en ons werk hard om dit weer te doen. Dit is nogal ‘n prestasie as gevolg van die feit dat daar sowat 1500 skole aan die kompetisie deelneem. Sterkte aan al die leerlinge wat skryf en sodoende hulself akademies bevorder.
