HIERDIE kwartaal is ons leerlinge druk besig met krieket-, sokker- en atletiekoefeninge.
NRS is trots op Zander van Greuning wat gekies is vir die Vryheid Streekspan vir o/11-krieket. Baie geluk, Zander, en sterkte met die komende wedstryde en die volgende rondte proewe.
Krieket: Verlede Donderdag het ons o/13-span teen Michaelis gespeel. NRS kolf eerste en teken 189 lopies aan vir die verlies van 5 paaltjies. Ons beste kolwer van die dag, Joshua Stride, verklaar op 100 lopies. Michaelis kolf tweede en teken 104 lopies aan vir die verlies van 6 paaltjies. NRS wen dus die wedstryd. Die beste bouler was Joshua Stoltenkamp. In sy 5 boulbeurte neem hy 3 paaltjies en staan 16 lopies af. Mooi so!
Soccer: Last weekend our u/11 and u/13 teams took part in a soccer tournament at Glencoe. In the first round our u/11 team beat Glencoe 1st team 2-0 and Glencoe 2nd team 2-0. In the finals NRS lost 0-2 against Glencoe 2nd and 0-3 against Glencoe 1st team. NRS was placed second in the u/11 tournament and our boys were happy to receive three soccer balls as a prize.
Our 1st u/13 soccer team played against Paulpietersburg in the first round and lost 0-1. They then played against Ricardia and lost 1-3. In the finals NRS beat Dundee 4-0 and lost against Hlobane 0-1. Overall NRS came second in the u/13 tournament and this team also walked away with three new soccer balls as a prize.
NRS would like to thank Mr T Mdlalose and Mr S Mtshali who accompanied our boys, as well as Glencoe Primary for hosting such a well organised tournament.
Slipper Day: On Friday, 5 August, NRS learners were allowed to come to school wearing slippers with their school uniform. It was great fun, but the best of all was that, with this fundraiser, we supported the ‘Reach for a Dream’ Foundation.
