Tandy Street toddler treated in hospital

Heater to blame for flat blaze.

A one-year-old girl suffered burns to her arms, legs and face, after a fire broke out at a Tandy Street flat.

The girl was allegedly alone in the room with a heater, when it exploded, shattering the windows and started the blaze.

It is understood that she was in the care of her nanny who appears to not have suffered any burns.

Neighbours at Oaklands Flat, were alerted to the fire, after hearing windows shatter.

The fire brigade were called in and the blaze contained and extinguished.

An ambulance took the little girl to the nearby Dundee Hospital.

She was later transferred to Newcastle Private.
