Resident’s nightmare after home flooded by sewage

Mrs Venter speculated the main sewerage pipe system was the problem, as the waste often gushed from her toilet and flowed down her house's passage, into her lounge and dining area.

“I had to leave work to sort this out!” exclaimed Christelle Venter, after sewage flooded her home on Tuesday morning.

Residing in HJ van Eck Drive for the past 15 years, this was not the first time sewage flooded her home.

“At one stage it only used to happened during the rainy season, but now it has happened twice in the past three months alone,” she fumed.

Mrs Venter speculated the main sewerage pipe system was the problem, as the waste often gushed from her toilet and flowed down her house’s passage, into her lounge and dining area.

Mrs Venter is demanding answers from the municipality.

“Would you like to come home to this?” she asked, looking at the after affects of the latest flood.

She claimed attempts to get hold of municipal officials have proved futile, leaving her uncertain of what could be done to resolve the matter.

The municipality was contacted for comment, but none was forthcoming at the time of going to print.
