Ready, set, race!

Motorsport fans were treated to a night of high octane racing at the Oval Track.

The sound of roaring engines filled the night sky last Saturday evening, with racers competing at the monthly Oval Track racing event.

The event was cancelled earlier this month due to rain.

However, with clear skies and warm weather dominating the weekend, racing enthusiasts flocked to the track to ensure their desire for high octane sports was met.

Watching participants testing their skill while pushing their vehicles to the maximum, the night was thoroughly enjoyed by spectators.

In the women’s division, Cathleen de Jager clinched first place, with Zaakira Khan in seond place and Sameera Ameer in third.

Tiaan Buys secured the win in the Rookie category, with Stephan van der Merwe in second position.

In the Tin Tops category, Boet Buys sped into first place, with JP Bruin taking second position and Flip Gericke securing third place.

In the 1660 division, Imraam Ameer won first place, followed by Tiaan Buys and Shaukat Khan in second and third place.

Ali Jamalodeen was first in the 1600 division, Shaukat Khan in second place and Dhula Jamalodeen in third position.

In the two-litre category, Norman Forbes secured the win, with Gideon Hand in second place and Hendrik van der Merwe in third.

Hendrik also sped into victory in the Hot Rods class, while Hendrik Labuschagne took second postion and Gideon Hand securing third place.

The go-cart division’s victory went to Ruaan Labuschagne, with Tiaan Buys and John van Rooyen taking second and third place respectively.

Ronnie Greyling roared into first place into the V8 Flexis division with Stoffel van Rooyen in second position.
