On Monday morning paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services responded to a crash on the N3 highway near the Bergville Toll Plaza.
Sadly a woman aged about 55-years-old passed away. It is believed that her car overturned before coming to a rest on its wheels on the centre median between the north and south bound carriageways.
Indications are that this was the only vehicle involved in the crash. According to passing motorists who stopped to assist, the woman had been travelling with two dogs. One of the dogs ran away after the crash, while the other dog didn’t appear to have sustained any injuries and was being cared for by passers-by.
The police were also at the scene and are investigating the exact circumstances resulting in this incident.
