SOUTH AFRICANS should keep Nelson Mandela’s legacy alive by living his values in every aspect of their own lives.

The Mandela that is frequently remembered seemed to be his role of a forgiver, unifier and leader.

The spirit of volunteerism will create a caring society that in the end will stand together to build a strong nation.

Mandela understood that freedom was just a word unless people can use it to live lives they value. We need to follow his example.

– 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.

– 85% of all youth sitting in prisons grew up in fatherless homes.

– 80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes.

– Children from fatherless homes are five times more likely to commit suicide, and 10 times more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs.

July 2015 Men’s Month message: “Fathers, you are needed.” Respect your wife and support your children.

“Life is meaningless only if we allow it to be. Each of us has the power to give life meaning, to make our time, and our bodies, and our words into instruments of love and hope.”
