Vryheid High School – Glamour and glitz galore
As always the hall was decorated beautifully and a perfect setting for such a prestigious event. The Grade 12s were transformed into ‘Hollywood’ stars with their attire and demeanour.
ON JULY 31 our annual matric farewell function was hosted in the school hall with a dramatic Chinese theme in red, gold and black.

Of course part of the magic of this event is the vehicle one arrives in! This is entertainment on its own as the most impressive vehicles were used. Our sincere appreciation to Mrs L Schoeman, who organised the whole farewell, as well as her helpers: Mrs N Mentz (flowers); Mr G van den Berg; the Grade 11 register teachers and the Grade 11s. Thank you for making this a memorable evening for every matric who attended.

On Thursday, July 30, the first team cricketers played against Pongola. We batted first and scored an impressive total of 167. The top scorer in the innings was M Machado with 76. Pongola was bowled out in the 13th over for 56. Notable contributions to the bowling were Z Holliday, S Thabede and K Taylor. VHS won the match by 111 runs. Well done boys!
