For the past week, Elm Street residents in Arbor Park have been forced to endure a river of sewage flowing down the street.
“It is disgusting and I have reported it numerous times but nothing has been done,” claimed one resident, who wished to remain anonymous.
The leak stemmed from a pipe under the pavement and flowed for approximately 100 metres down the street into a storm water drain.
The resident said the stench was unbearable, especially when the wind carried the smell into nearby homes.
“It is a health hazard and something needs to be done,” she insisted.
The municipality was contacted for comment, but none was forthcoming at the time of going to print.
