Spelling and mathematics improves at Glencoe Primary

Congratulations to all these children.

A great intuitive was launched at Glencoe Primary School to improve spelling, as well as mathematics, at the school. Competitions are held in all the classes with spelling words and tables/bonds that the children have to learn.
The top pupils are then selected for the second round where more difficult words/tables are tested on an intensified level. Here only a few children are selected to participate in the final. The winners of the finals are then treated to a day of educational fun away from school.
Previous winners were taken to Ushaka Marine World in Durban and last year they were treated to the experiences of Gold Reef City in Johannesburg.
New staff

It is a privilege to welcome and introduce the following new staff members at our school. R Fourie, C Strydom, T Mlambo and two administration interns J Griffiths and R Griffiths. Glencoe Primary wishes them all the best.
Vandalism
The school entrance, as well as other places, were vandalised over the holidays, but, with the help of the community, the vandals were quickly identified. “We thank those that have the interests of the school at heart. It is important to be vigilant towards vandalism. We hope that our actions will help to reduce vandalism in the Glencoe community,” Glencoe Primary remarked.
