Bail granted for Browning Street murder accused

Suspect not considered to be a flight risk.

The Dundee Magistrate’s Court has just granted bail to Michelle Gaskin set at R1000.

Michelle Gaskin is one of the accused arrested for the murder of Rekha Govender (30), in her home in Browning Street on July 2.

Her lawyer stated that the state had no grounds to keep her as she is ‘factually innocent’.

He also mentioned that she is the only bread winner in her family, supporting two minors.

He also said she is a ‘productive member of society’ and was not considered a flight risk.

The trio will next appear in court on August 12 for the bail application of accused number three, Mohammed Alijan.
