Shack remains a fixture in CBD

Recently, rumours surfaced that the shack was allegedly built by a municipal official for the herders of his cattle.

Hidden from prying eyes, a shack was erected nearby the old railway lines on Murchison Road.

While the shack itself is virtually invisible to passing motorists, the owner’s cattle are not.

Livestock can often be seen grazing in the vicinity along Hardwick Street, and the potential danger to motorists cannot be ignored.

Despite a firm undertaking in May by Mayor, Afzul Rehman, that the shack would be removed, nothing has been done to remove the shack or the cattle.

Recently, rumours surfaced that the shack was allegedly built by a municipal official for the herders of his cattle.

The municipality’s communication department was contacted on numerous occasions, but no statement was forthcoming at the time of going to print.
