Vash, the focused career woman

Vash's take on being a successful career person is to become a people's person and engage well with others

42-year old Vash Robson was born and raised in Greytown attended primary and high school there. At the tender age of five Vash lost her dad and recalls her mother raising both her and her older brother, Dhinen Moodley.

“I watched my mother going to work every morning to provide for our family, she was both a mother and father to my brother and I. She has inspired me to be the strong and independent career woman I am today,” affirmed Vash.

Vash then met her lifelong partner, Errol Robson. The couple bore three children, Tyler, Caleb and Trinity. Both Vash and Errol’s career paths at the time allowed for the newly wed family to settle in Estcourt. Vash was first employed at Nedbank for four years.

During the four years, Vash started off as the manager’s Personal Assistant then Enquiries and worked her way to being a Teller. She then went on to work for the Work Force Group, and again from Personal Assistant, she was promoted to Manager and then Area Manager over the course of eight years. After the company downsized its staff, Vash was one of the many to be retrenched, Vash and her family then relocated to Pietermaritzburg.

In Pietermaritzburg Vash was employed by NOFESA as a Marketing Manager but after eight months she resigned as her eldest son fell very ill and required care 24/7. During that time Vash learnt that a firm foundation of faith in God can create a foundation for your success in all aspects of life. The Robson family moved back to Estcourt for a year-and-a-half thereafter. At the time Vash worked as an Admin Manager, Training and Development Facilitator, a qualified assessor and moderator in wholesale and retail.

Her job at the time, required her to travel in and around Northern KwaZulu-Natal and for approximately two years Vash was on the move.
She decided she needed to settle down and that’s when she joined the Old Mutual family as a Senior Financial Advisor.

In the next five years Vash would love to still be doing what she is currently employed in. “I want to be content and happy, financially secure while being an icon of inspiration to others within the community.” Vash’s favourite pass times are building puzzles and reading.
Her motto in life is: “Make others feel important, everyone wants to be recognised.” Vash’s take on being a successful career person is to become a people’s person and engage well with others.
