A day to remember at the farm

There was such excitement as each pupil was afforded the opportunity of riding a beautiful horse

On Wednesday, May 13, 21 very excited St Gregory’s grade R and RR’s set out for a day to remember! Upon arriving at the farm, the pupils were met by Mrs Vernall, she immediately escorted the “aspiring equestrians” to the paddock.

The “equestrians” were duly introduced to “Painted Lady”, “Nushke”, “Wild Fire”, “Rain Dancer” and “Dixie”. There was such excitement as each pupil was afforded the opportunity of riding a beautiful horse. The next activity had the ‘creative juices’ soaring as gaily painted fridge magnets were carefully crafted.

Decorating Marie biscuits with a variety of condiments and chocolate bunnies were scrumptious to say the least. Last but not least the “equestrians”, fed the ever-patient horses. Tired but happy, the Grade R and RR’s clambered into the waiting vehicles to be transported back to school with fond memories of the very eventful day! Thank you to all at the farm, we shall definitely be visiting ‘our horses’ again.
