FOCUSED on polishing their gems and giving them the opportunity to shine, the educators at Mondlo Secondary School held a careers seminar for their Grade 11 and 12 Science learners.

The aim of this seminar, which was held at Oxford Lodge on Saturday, May 16, was to make these students aware of all the career opportunities that are available to them in the Science field.

People working in the agricultural sector, pharmacy, engineering and medicine made presentations.

According to Mr Zwane, one of the educators at the school, many young people nowadays leave high school only to stay at home and do nothing and this issue may be as a result of these young people being unaware of all the opportunities available especially to these learners who have Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physical Sciences.

The educators of Mondlo Secondary would like to thank Mrs. Sithole from the Department of Agriculture, Mr Ndebele who is a pharmacist, civil engineerer Mr Manda and medical doctor Dr Nkosi who all took their time to be present and to plant something good into these young minds.

The educators also awarded top learners for term one (Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematics)

Top student went to Nkosi Thembelihle who achieved all three awards in Grade 11.

Mondlo Secondary would also like to thank their sponsors Mr Stone and Mr Gabela for doing their bit to give back to the community.
