A domestic disturbance case has resulted in the arrest of one individual charged with assault with intent to create grievous bodily harm. Police were alerted to the case when a resident contacted them regarding screams from a residence in Fairleigh.
However, the call was concluded before all the information could be given to the operator. Fortunately, investigations led police to the suspect’s home.
Police believed an argument between a couple had caused the incident. It has been alleged the suspect dumped an acidic substance over his partner.
The extent of the burns created by the acidic substance, believed to have been a drain cleaner, was unconfirmed.
Investigations continue.
