Three trucks collide on the N11

Once extricated, the patient was further examined before being transported to hospital for continued medical care.

Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services have responded to a crash involving three trucks on the N11 before the Dundee turn off, in northern KZN.

One person has been injured in the crash. However, the patient had sustained serious injuries and was entrapped the truck that he had been driving. Paramedics stabilized the patient, before our rescue medic used the “jaws of life”, to spread, cut and shear the crushed truck away from the injured driver.

Once extricated,  the patient was further examined before being transported to hospital for continued medical care.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.

“Motorist are reminded to always be extremely cautious on the roads, especially if they are feeling tired or drowsy they need to stop and take a rest,” said EMRS spokesperson, Robert McKenzie
