Fraudulent behaviour hits Dundee

Fraudulent operations have hit Dundee this past week after a local business was scammed of R10 230.
This came after a well-dressed man, claiming to be an educator, came to the business and purchased clothing worth R10 230.
He was later given a discount that brought the price to R9 718,50.
Upon paying he handed the business owner a cheque and promised to personally cash it in on April 7.
When the date arrived the business owner was alarmed after the man failed to return.
The business owner contacted him, and was informed that he moved the date to April 15 owing to the fact that he only gets paid on that date.
The business owner smelt a rat and promptly went to the bank to cash the cheque and after doing so he was told that the cheque was fake and the transaction was unsuccessful.
A case of fraud has been opened and police are investigating.
