DNA evidence puts murderous ex-boyfriend behind bars

It is believed that the accused killed the woman in a fit of jealous rage

A vicious murderer will be behind bars for a long time after killing his ex-girlfriend in Ezakheni. The murder happened on Sunday, March 1, in Ezakheni D-Section. Ezakheni Visible Policing officers responded to the scene and were greeted by a gruesome sight.

A young woman was found with her throat slit and an open wound to her check.

The deceased was later identified as Sthembile Precious Dlamini.

The crime scene was processed for clues and evidence, after which a case docket of murder was opened for investigation.Warrant Officer DJ Ntuli from Ezakheni Detective Services was designated as the investigating officer and he didn’t waste any time in tracking down the culprit.

The very next day, a suspect was behind bars. The 39-year-old suspect, an ex-boyfriend of the deceased, was arrested in the KwaMnthandi area. W/O Ntuli then meticulously built a case against the accused, gathering evidence which included DNA evidence which ultimately linked the ex-boyfriend to the scene.

It is believed that the accused killed the woman in a fit of jealous rage.

On Wednesday, April 22, Senzeni Christopher Shezi was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for murder. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
