Co-operatives elect steering committee

The purpose behind the initiative is to create jobs while increasing the wealth of the community

Recently members of the Umtshezi World Co-operatives Development called for a meeting at the GG Farm to elect a steering committee for co-operatives in the area of Wembezi.The purpose behind the initiative is to create jobs while increasing the wealth of the community.

Amongst the co-operatives there is ND Wood Co-operative, which specialises in travel and tourism, a craft centre, traditional restaurant and shisinyama. Why Not Co-operative focuses on chicken farming, while the Asiphile Co-operative specialises in vegetable gardens.

The House of Beauty Salon handles beauty treatments and care offered in most well know salons and the Siyathuthuka Co-operative, produces broiler chickens.The Phunginlala Co-operative deals with recycling tyres and interlock brick making.
