Prayer service to inspire community caregivers

Songs and prayers were offered to strengthen the caregivers as they give hope to the sick, daily

On Thursday, April 16 a prayer service was held for Estcourt Hospital’s Community Caregivers. Guest speakers and care givers gathered at the town hall in their numbers. The service was themed “brighten the corner where you are.”

Songs and prayers were offered to strengthen the caregivers as they give hope to the sick, daily. Ms ZC Khanyile, a community care giver gave a speech, and said that, people who are ill and can’t make it to the nearest clinic or people ashamed to visit the local clinic should welcome community caregivers with open arms and not turn them away.

Sister P Mvelase encouraged the caregivers not to give up as people tend to turn them away, and that primary health wouldn’t be possible without their efforts. A team of community care givers performed a role play for the attendants of what their daily routine entails.
