Words of wonder

Khaselihle Primary School was the 21st recipient of the Avbob Mobile Libary donation programme last week Wednesday.

The school, located in Madadeni Section 2, caters for more than 1 000 pupils from pre-primary until Grade 4.

Since its inception, the school has never had the resources to create a library, which was deemed a neccesity to help in the development of the pupils.

Avbob saw the school as a priority in its community initiative, and donated the fully furnished library with the books needed to benefit the pupils.

“This improvement will definitely help our children further their education, as many of them do not have access to the Internet or a library,” said Student Governing Body chairperson, Jerry Lukhele.

He believed the library would allow pupils to better their marks, and give them access to information to help them complete assignments.

Grade 2 pupil, Banele Mazibuko, said all the pupils were grateful to Avbob for their generous donation.

“Avbob has opened a door for the children of my school. We promise to look after the books so that everyone can use it nicely,” he said.

District Mayor, Jabu Khumalo, thanked Avbob for the donation, and said the improvement to the lives of the country’s pupils and education was a key factor to the success of the country.

She believed the project was well and truly sustainable, and challenged other businesses to follow in Avbob’s steps.

“The Government cannot do everything in improving this country. We need help from our local businesses as well.”
