Girls assist the elderly

The girls went from house-to-house, cooking, cleaning and washing for the beneficiaries because they are unable to do it for themselves

Over the Easter holiday 30 high school girls from Ntabamhlophe volunteered their time to help the needy. The girls have been meeting in an after-school club for the past year with Peace Corps and Meals on Wheels volunteer Melinda Morgan.

The Goodhome Girls Club focuses on different life skills topics including HIV/Aids, teenage pregnancy, goal setting, careers and community service. As a club, the girls planned and organised a community service event targeting the elderly, people living with HIV/Aids and the disabled.

The girls took time from their school break to help their community. The event included the girls going from house-to-house, cooking, cleaning and washing for the beneficiaries because they are unable to do it for themselves.

Meals on Wheels Food Security and Development Agency provided the beneficiaries with food parcels because many of them only survive on grants.
