Shaken staff members stood outside the offices of the AbaQulusi Licensing Department this morning each retelling activities that happened prior to the robbery that took place an hour before.
According to the staff members, two young men walked into the building this morning under the impression that they were there to write their learners license.
“After following us into the building they pulled out guns and demanded that we lie on the floor. They then demanded our cellphones and that we open up the safe (all while telling us that we would not get hurt if we cooperated). They then tied us up with cable-ties before fleeing the scene,” said one of the victims.
After forcing the front door of their offices open, the victims called the police.
The suspects are said to have made off with three cellphones and an undisclosed amount of money on foot.
A case of armed robbery has been opened and investigations are underway.
