Be alert of ‘crossing’ animals

The driver claimed that a kudu dashed across the road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle

Emergency services received two accident reports where drivers reported animals dashing across the road.

In the first incident on Tuesday, March 31, a driver was travelling along the R74 near Chievely at about 7.30pm when an unknown animal ran across the road.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road.

Three people sustained minor injuries. The next day on April 1 an accident report was received from the Frere/Winterton Interchange at 11.05pm.

The driver claimed that a kudu dashed across the road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and also come to a stop off the road. Fortunately there were no injuries.
