Vryheid Round Table – Exciting 50th year planned

ON JANUARY 31 the members of Vryheid Round Table 129 and their lovely ladies met at Dee’s to welcome our new chairman, Marnus Steenkamp, into his position. Lots of fun was had by all. A big thank you to Horst and Dianne who went to great lengths to make this a very special occasion.

We would like to congratulate Marnus on being elected as Chairman and wish him and his council all the best in the coming year.

We are looking forward to another year of fun, fellowship and charity, and can’t wait to see you all at our projects in 2015! Keep an eye on the press for details of project scheduled for 2015.

Vryheid Round Table was awarded the honour of hosting the Drakensberg Area AGM at Bivane Dam on February 28. We are very proud to have had one of our own members, Rupert Niebuhr, serve as Chairman of Drakensberg Area for the past year. He was given a big send off when he handed over the reins on that Saturday.

This is going to be a very special year for Vryheid Round Table, as the club has been around for 50 years. It was chartered in 1965 by neighbouring Dundee Round Table. It promises to be a very festive year as the local members, past members and rest of Drakensberg Area celebrate this half centenary milestone!
