Back at the business the employer found that the employee had not returned from the bank

Late for an appointment, a businessman sent his Malawian employee to deposit funds on his behalf, only to find the employee fled with all his belongings and didn’t make the deposit.

It is alleged that on Monday, March 9 approximately at 12pm the businessman sent an employee to deposit a large sum of money into another individual’s account. After returning from the appointment the businessman made a shocking discovery.

Back at the business the employer found that the employee had not returned from the bank. The employee stayed at the businessman’s premises and the employer discovered that the foreign national left with all his belongings. After communicating with the account holder, the businessman also found that the deposit was not made.

The case was reported to the police. No arrests have been made at this stage. Police are currently conducting an on-going investigation.
