Four hurt in truck collision

On inspection, paramedics discovered that four people were injured in the collision, one of them critically after she was ejected from the vehicle

Four people were injured on Friday morning after a truck rolled down an embankment between Colenso and Pieters. ER24 paramedics arrived on scene to find the truck lying at the bottom of the embankment with a group of bystanders gathered around.

On inspection, paramedics discovered that four people were injured in the collision, one of them critically after she was ejected from the vehicle. Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries, as well as provided advanced life support for the critically injured patient. Once treated, the patients were transported by ambulance to Ladysmith Hospital for further medical treatment.

It is believed that the driver lost control of the truck causing it to roll down the embankment, throwing its cargo of meat across the scene. Local authorities were on scene.
