Training for karate championships

Kihon, Kata and Kumite were addressed and worked on during the two-hour training session

A senior Northern KwaZulu-Natal JKA training session was held on Saturday, March 7, in preparation for the championships which will be held this Saturday (March 14) at the Farmer’s Hall in Newcastle. Over 200 entries have come from the affiliated clubs of Dundee, Hluhluwe, Ladysmith, Newcastle, Paul Pietersburg, Piet Retief, Pongola, Volksrust and Vryheid.

As always, Kihon, Kata and Kumite were addressed and worked on during the two-hour training session, which was followed by a refresher course for judges and referees, specifically concentrating on JKA rules and regulations for the upcoming championships this weekend.

A big “OSS” goes out to all the karatekas (those competing and those behind the scenes) who have put in effort and hard work to make this coming weekend a success. Without you, this tournament would not be possible.
