Alfred Street undergoes a revamp

Drivers expressed their relief by hooting and applauding the contractors on the site

That nasty piece of road that gave drivers, passengers and pedestrians nightmares can be kissed goodbye. The Alfred Street rehabilitation project commenced on Tuesday morning, March 3 as Slkoti Developments representatives joined municipal staff at the sod turning ceremony.

Drivers expressed their relief by hooting and applauding the contractors on the site. “The project starts across the bridge at the beginning of Outspan Road, past Keate and Philip streets and ending at the Harding Street robots.”

The project will take six months before reaching its completion stage at the end of August. We are hopeful that there shall be no hindrances that will affect the planned program of action. The contractors in charge of the rehabilitation are Slkoti Developments,” said the Municipal Manager Nonhlanhla Njoko.
