One woman’s trash is another’s treasure

Tracy doesn't have many shiny things in her décor; shiny décor is not what settles her deep eclectic vibe that she craves

Tracey Bure gives life to what many may consider waste. Tracey is a positive, friendly and bubbly person, with a zest for life and rather crafty fingers. When she first spotted pallets and odd bits of wood lying in her garage collecting dust, it clicked. She pictured something beautiful sitting in a corner of her living room and her work was cut out for her indeed. Turning trash into treasure meant she had to drape it with tender loving care. Tracey’s talent is applauded in a time when words like “sustainability” and “recycling” are used and consciously implemented. Many people find it easier to throw away, whereas Tracey finds it easier sprucing up a wooden pallet and giving it a new purpose.

“I’m encouraged by my surroundings a lot of the time. Like how crazy I can get when my two five-year-old twin girls’ hair ponies, clips and bands lay all over the place, that’s when I’m inspired to make a hair rack,” shared Tracey. So looking at a piece of wood or any other material through Tracey’s eyes, we may see how she can turn it into something new with her creative touch and help create memories with her repurposed item.  The sight of a stack of wood pallets sparks Tracey’s creative energy.

Tracy doesn’t have many shiny things in her décor; shiny décor is not what settles her deep eclectic vibe that she craves. Beyond the artsy side of repurposing materials, Tracey believes you can save lots of money in this time of expensive living. “It’s so rewarding on so many levels to assign new meaning to things that are no longer found useful and turn them in something of importance.” Tracey makes it clear in the above that her romance with the used and slightly abused runs deep. In the next five years to come Tracey would like to see her woodwork flourish and that she could do it full time, have her very own website for Nicky Jules Creations as well as receive bigger orders where she could create jobs and share her talent with others.

Tracy relocated to Estcourt at a young age with the parents and two siblings, completed her schooling career in our town and found her prince charming Edgar Bure, she has come to love that the town is a close knit community, always ready to show one another love and support. When Tracey isn’t busy with crafting wooden beauties, she also enjoys gardening, baking and doing yoga when time permits. Tracey is motivated by these words: “just let it be, after all if it is meant to be then so shall it be no man can stop it from being.” You can visit the Nicky Jules Creations Facebook page or contact Tracey on 073 886 7951.
