The search phrase “fired over a Tweet” returns over 30 million search results on Google, all good examples of what not to post on social media

Who would have thought, five years ago, that a simple tweet, a brazen Facebook post or a naively posted video or photograph could have you dusting off your CV?

The simple truth is that people doggedly still believe they can say what they like on “their” own accounts.

But in a world where a post, photo or video can go viral in seconds and literally millions of people can read what you have to say about your boss/company or product, being fired because of what you have done on social media is a very real possibility!

In fact, the list would be so long they would have to update it every single day, as Darwin’s law culls the workplace of the social media inept…

But what we can take away from the article is the need to ‘think before you post’.
