Vintage bikes stop at Sondela Service Station

They were on their way to Newcastle to spend the night, and then head off to Johannesburg the next day

Close to 40 bikers riding vintage motorcycles made a pit-stop at Sondela Service Station in Poort Road on Friday afternoon.

The bikers, all taking part in the DJ Run, stopped to fill up their tanks with ‘gas’ and their tummies with a bite to eat and something refreshing to drink.

They were on their way to Newcastle to spend the night, and then head off to Johannesburg the next day.

In the region of 36 motorcycles pulled into Sondela on Friday, much to the delight of passersby who spread the word to fellow biking enthusiasts.

The oldest bike was a 1909 model, belonging to Samantha Anderson. Imagine riding a motorcycle that is 106 years old!
