Doctor’s visit cut short by cops

A suspect was caught who had gained entry to the surgery by smashing a window

At least one man was arrested by police after an attempted break-in at a doctor’s surgery in the early hours of Friday morning (March 6).

After an alarm was triggered, police and armed response officers rushed to the scene.

A suspect was caught who had gained entry into the surgery by smashing a window.

Initially, when the armed response officers arrived, they found a broken front window. They, however, realised that the alarm zones in the surgery were still being triggered, indicating that someone was still inside.

By this stage, police officers had arrived and together with the armed response team, began to search the surgery.

They found the suspect hiding in a storeroom.

The suspect was arrested and has been charged.

The doctor, speaking to the Ladysmith Gazette, was happy that the suspect was caught.
